We have existed for 315,000 years, and have come close to destroying ourselves over the last 200. What have we lost? How do we make things, in harmony with our natural surroundings? To counteract our reliance on fossil-based power we must instead rely on human, community-based power. Together, we can accomplish much, with tools that are primitive by today’s standards.
I research and address these questions, through exploration of processes, often archaic and human-powered. I am searching for the things that bring us together as humans, the shared experiences, commonalities. I wish to heal rifts, between each other, between us and nature. Through performance, video, sculpture, text, and social practice, my work constantly examines new interpretations of old methods and ideas.
